At a STOP sign with a marked stop line, where should you stop?
The rule
At a STOP sign, stop at the marked stop line. If there is none, stop short of the crosswalk on your side. With no crosswalk either, stop where you can best see oncoming traffic.
At a STOP sign with a marked stop line, the line shows where to stop. Stop there, not in the crosswalk or the intersection.
From the Georgia Drivers' Manual, page 28. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DDS have the final word.
