You are 25. How may you use a cell phone while driving?
The rule
Drivers 18 and older may use a phone only hands-free: mounted on the windshield, dashboard or center console, and touched only to turn on hands-free mode. No texting, reading or browsing while driving.
Drivers 18 and older may use a phone only in hands-free mode. Holding it, texting or browsing while driving is illegal. If you need the phone, pull over somewhere safe.
From the Massachusetts Driver's Manual, page 39. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the RMV have the final word.
