Within how many feet of a car you are following must you dim your high beams?

The rule

Use low beams when you are within 200 feet behind another vehicle going your way. High beams are for rural roads with no other cars nearby.

Once you are 200 feet or closer behind a vehicle going your way, switch to low beams.

From the Georgia Drivers' Manual, page 24. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DDS have the final word.
