An ambulance behind you has its siren and lights on. What should you do?

The rule

When an emergency vehicle with siren and flashing lights comes, pull over as close as you can to the road's edge, keep out of intersections and stay stopped until it goes by.

Move as close to the edge of the road as you can, stay out of intersections, and stay stopped until the emergency vehicle has gone by.

From the Maryland Driver's Manual, Section 7, page 37. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the MVA have the final word.
