STOP

What must you do when you come to this sign?

The rule

An eight-sided STOP sign always means a complete stop. You may go on only after people crossing on your side have finished and you have yielded to traffic close by.

A STOP sign always means a full stop. Once stopped, look for cars, bikes and people in every direction, and go only when it is safe.

From the Georgia Drivers' Manual, page 28. This question is our own wording of that rule. The handbook and the DDS have the final word.
